About the Program

Medical Billing Fundamentals helps students develop the foundational skills needed to begin WSB’s Medical Billing career training program. No previous medical billing experience is required.

The course uses a two-phase approach: an individualized assessment followed by introductory medical billing training. Students develop attention to detail, communication, analytical, and workplace skills while learning what is required for success in the medical billing field.

Students must have functional vision. Those who use magnification software should be able to work with magnification of 4x or less.

Assessment

Each student begins with an assessment of their existing skills. Instructors evaluate areas such as written and verbal communication and identify skills that may need additional development.

Assessment results are used to create an individualized training plan based on each student’s skills and learning needs.
