Online Program Fundamental Courses
World Services for the Blind offers online Fundamental Courses for clients who are exploring career training. These courses help students determine whether a career program is a good fit and identify areas where they may need additional preparation before beginning their career-focused training.
Assistive Technology Fundamentals
WSB’s Assistive Technology Fundamentals course helps students develop the basic technology skills needed to succeed in online learning. No previous technology experience is required.
Students begin with an assessment that helps instructors identify their current skills and learning needs. Training may include:
Computers and Windows basics
Cell phones and mobile technology
Braille displays and notetakers
Book-reading devices
Email
Word processing software
Instruction is provided one-on-one and tailored to each student’s goals, experience, and learning needs. By completing the course, students build the foundational technology skills they need for further training, education, work, and daily life.
Medical Billing Fundamentals
Medical Billing Fundamentals helps students develop the basic skills needed to begin WSB’s Medical Billing career training program. No previous medical billing experience is required.
Students begin with an assessment of their written and verbal communication skills. Training introduces basic medical terminology, strategies for managing stressful work environments, and skills for adapting to change.
Instruction is tailored to each student’s needs and helps build the knowledge, communication skills, and workplace readiness needed to succeed in medical billing training.
