Program Overview

The WSB Mentorship Program is designed to support adults seeking employment through structured, one-on-one mentoring relationships. The program pairs mentors and mentees based on shared goals and areas of interest to encourage sustainable growth, confidence, and career development.

Becoming a mentor is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in someone’s life. By sharing your knowledge, experience, and guidance, you help a mentee navigate challenges, build confidence, and achieve their goals. Mentoring is not only rewarding for the mentee—it’s equally fulfilling for the mentor, offering personal growth, strengthened leadership skills, and the satisfaction of contributing to someone’s success. Every mentorship relationship is a chance to inspire, support, and leave a lasting positive influence.

To help mentees thrive, the following goals highlight what we hope each mentee will accomplish during their mentorship journey:

· Build job-readiness skills

· Develop personal and professional confidence

· Support long-term sustainable independence

· Expand and strengthen professional connections

“How do I become a Mentor?”

To become a mentor, individuals complete a simple application process and agree to support a mentee throughout the mentorship period. Mentors are then matched with a mentee based on experience, interests, and goals.

Mentor Requirements:

· Have relevant experience and a desire to support others.

· Commit to regular check-ins with your mentee.

· Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills.

· Complete any required mentor orientation or training.

· Follow program guidelines and maintain confidentiality.

· Submit resume to mentorship@wsblind.org

If you are interested in applying for the Mentorship program as a potential mentor, please fill out and sign the WSB Mentor Application & Agreement form.

Once all required information and documentation are received, the Mentorship Team will review them. Upon approval, a mentee will be assigned, and key details will be reviewed before the first meeting. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact mentorship@wsblind.org or call 501-664-7100.
